Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs: Produced in 1930, the movie was one of the earliest in Walt Disney’s arsenal of blockbusters. It is a beautiful representation of the story in which an evil stepmother plots to kill her beautiful stepdaughter in her quest to be the most beautiful woman in the land. Snow White manages to escape only to find herself lost in the forest. She lives with seven dwarfs, each of whom has a distinct characteristic. The stepmother finds out about Snow White’s existence through her magical mirror and plots to kill her stepdaughter herself. Snow White is saved by a Prince whom she had fallen in love with earlier, while the evil stepmother meets her death.
Cinderella: The next in the list of animated musical blockbusters for Disney was Cinderella. We are all aware of the tale in which the beautiful and innocent Cinderella is harassed by her stepmother and stepsisters. She is forced to be the maid and has to do all the household chores. She wants to attend the ball hosted by the prince, but her stepmother would not allow that. Blessed by the Fairy Godmother, Cinderella miraculously makes her way to the ball and the Prince falls in love with her and decides to marry her.
Robin Hood: Released in 1973, Robin Hood is Disney’s adaptation of the famous folk legend from England. Disney used a metaphorical representation as all characters were based on animals. This movie broke all records of popularity known then and zoomed its way into the top 100 Disney movies and the classics list. It is still a hot favorite among viewers.
